Emu Point Motel’s commitment to accessibility

We recognise the diversity of all our guests. Our commitment is to provide an excellent online and in-person holiday experience for all our guests including those with disabilities.

We aim to keep our online sites simple and user friendly to provide an outstanding experience for everyone that comes to visit Amazing Albany and Emu Point Motel.

To ensure a great stay our website contains important accessibility information about the Motel and our Wheelchair Accessible Studio including photos and measurements.

Detailed descriptions of the Motel’s accessible features including individuals with mobility impairment are as follows:

General Property

Ground-Level Access: All rooms are on the ground floor, and parking is conveniently located right at the door of each room. Additional parking for trailers and boats is available on the grassed areas.
Room Layout: Classic rooms are located at the front of the property, while Deluxe and Executive rooms (including our Wheelchair Accessible Studio) are situated at the rear.
Shower Chairs: The Wheelchair Accessible Studio includes a shower chair, and one can be requested for other rooms as well.
Lighting: Automatic outdoor lighting ensures visibility once the sun sets.

Entrance door width for Wheelchair friendly Executive Studio is 85cm
Bathroom door width is 80cm
Public areas/facilities accessible for physically challenged
Room accessible to wheelchairs is our wheelchair friendly room Executive Studio and has dedicated car parking with no kerb

Classic rooms

The Classic rooms are the rooms out the front of the property and have a small kerb leading to the room, the entrance door widths on these rooms are 78cm and are not suitable for electric wheelchairs. Many of our guests can manage with walkers/walking sticks.

Shower entry is 57cm and there is a 2cm step down into the recess. Bathroom door is 68cm wide and toilet door is 57cm wide.

Three of these rooms have grab rails in the shower recess and toilet. If you require this facility, please book direct with us so we can ensure that they are available for your stay.

Deluxe Rooms

The Deluxe rooms all have a curb at the front leading to the rooms.

The entrance door width on the Deluxe rooms is 84cm and the bathroom door width is 70cm.

Four of these rooms have grab rails in the shower recess and toilet. if you require these facilities, please book direct so we can ensure they are available for your stay.

Executive and Wheelchair Accessible Studios

Our Executive studios have the room that is wheelchair friendly.

Our Wheelchair Accessible Studio has a dedicated carpark with no kerb, roll in shower with handheld showerhead and grab rails in the shower and toilet. The hand basin is wheelchair accessible. The door entrance is 85cm and the bathroom door width is 80cm. 18 is the room number for the Wheelchair Accessible Studio. There is a shower chair in this room.

The entrance door width on the other Executive studios is 84cm and the bathroom door width is 80cm.

There is a kerb leading to the studios.
